Crap.

Monday, September 14, 2009

Returned from Las Vegas with the new memory of the bride looking at me with such sympathy and asking what happened to cause me to get so fat. Yikes. And I was proud of the loss I've accomplished - but she hasn't seen me in almost 7 years. Then I reviewed the photos with the bride & groom and had them point out shots that weren't flattering of me (double chins, gut rolls, etc.). Like I needed to have those pointed out to me.

So I have been paying close attention to what I've been doing since I returned. Yesterday, I got on the scale for the first time in months. I have gained about 12 pounds in 4 months. Four months since I got promoted and started working 80 hours a week and missing the hours my Curves is open. And burying my work stress in crappy food. I am taking my life back this week. I will go back to Curves (starting Tuesday). And I have started back with recording my food and drinking my water.

I know what to do. Now I will start doing it. I am sick (literally) of being obese.

Good for you for taking what could have been a really BAD situation and using it to get back on track.
Why are some of our friends so immature? For a second I thought that you meant a child had asked you that question. But it doesn't matter. Take control of your life and time--like you are doing--and you will really give her something to think about the next time you see her.

Gee, what uplifting friends you have emoticon Don't let your busy schedule take over your life. Although you don't have much "me" time, you do control your time. Even if you can't work time into your schedule for long workouts, fit five minutes in here and there. Do 20 squats when you go to the rest room and some wall push-ups.

And I know we make excuses (I sure do), but even when super busy we have time to eat healthy. Start with your next meal.

    You can do this!!

I looked at the wedding picture. I hope the other two in the photo were not the ones that made you feel like crap because they should be taking a good look at themselves also. You take care of yourself and don't let your job or friends add stress to your life. Feel good about yourself and you will do fine. You are a very pretty young woman.

No body deserves to be made to feel like crap about themselves. Your friends need to learn how to encourage people by building them up, not tearing them down. Shame on them. If you go looking for faults that's all you see.

Focus on the positives. You're here and you're ready to get healthy. Who cares how many times you've started before. What matters is that you keep on trying. Keep celebrating all your efforts in the right direction. The better you feel about your efforts the more likely they are to become permanent.

Glad to hear you're taking control once again! Good for you! Working out will certainly help to allieveate the strss of your job and give you a better mind set for figuring out problems. I like to do that when I walk-- it clears my mind. Hope that bride is a GOOD friend! LOL Who else could say something like that? I wish you the best and please feel free to e-mail whenever the stress factor gets in your way.
