I've gained and lost...

what a combination! How long has it been? Well the title says it all, I've gained and lost weight. It seems the closer I get to looking at the 300s in my rear view, the more I slack up. I ballooned to 328 but managed to come down to 318. Often times I found myself asking, "what happened", but I already know the answer to that question. I guess the real question is WHY it happened? Why did I shoot hooky from the gym so often? Why did I choose a hamburger over grilled chicken? Why did I choose sleep over preparing a sensible, healthy meal for lunch the next day? Why did I fail to plan? So many questions but no real answers, only excuses caused by laziness! Now laziness, in my opinion, is the root to all excuses!

I've struggled with the idea of setting new goals. Why? Because it seems I never follow through to the end. Then I read a statement from someone's page that struck me as "good sense." This fellow Sparker said instead of thinking about the amount of weight she needed to lose, she took it 10 pounds at a time. Keeping track of 10lb increments is alot better than keeping up with 40-100 pounds at a time; not to mention the frustration experienced after not reaching your goal.

So with that being said, I'm yet changing up again. I'll try anything once! I'm changing my focus to achieve a 10 pound weight lost, before or on Halloween! Let's see how this works out!

    First of all I love your short hairstyle! Looks good on you. I want to go short again sooo bad but I don't have the guts! Good idea on taking 10lbs at a time. I'm a roller coaster loser too maybe that will help me. Good luck to you!

    Smaller goals are better. I'm not much for goal setting as I seem to never meet any of them. I'm just shooting for 10#s per month but not dwelling on it per se. I don't plan weight loss goals pass the month I'm currently in either. My plan, just do everything I can to lose weight and get fitter and healthier. So far so good. You will get there too. Cant' wait to see you jump on over into the 290's

    I had to do that as well after being incredibly overwhelmed with the thought of needing to loose 130lbs. But it helps. It's so motivating to see my ticker right now because I feel so close to my first goal instead of being sooooooo far from my ultimate goal. But that just pushes me further because I know taht if I could only make it to my first 10 lbs goal, then I'll be damned if I dont make it to the next 10 lbs, and the next after that, until eventually I get to my ideal weight! you can do it!!! Every little step helps, every single one no matter now miniscule it may seem. It helps get you closer to being healthy! WE CAN DO THIS!!!
