My 8 year old son was at school on Friday when an Asian boy was making faces at him and calling him "white", my son in return called the boy a flat face, I know it was wrong for my son to say this and he was punished....but this doesn't end there......this happened on Friday...the child mother called Monday to report it. They had my son go to the office before the bell even rung to start school and they issued him a "Red Card" for using racial son was so upset I had to pick him up from the school because he was crying so i asked the princapal what had happened before and after my son did this and she said "I Don't Know".......well then when I addressed the fact that my son was being mocked for being white she said that because the little boy who is Asian has white skin they do not think that the Asian boy was using a racial slur by calling my son white but my son had crossed the line when he called the boy flat the other little boy had no consiquences.........I know my son was wrong but why does this seem very one sided to me.....please feel free to leave all feedback!!!!

The real problem is that no one is willing to work things through anymore. The principal should be embarrassed for not knowong what went on and she should have tried to make these two kids understand before issueing a "red card".. I could go on and on about this for you. but both children should have been put in a room, have it explained, and another chance.

I feel for your situation. I guess that is just one of the lessons we have to learn in life. Not everything is fair and its a jungle out there. Maybe if you encouraged your son to turn the other cheek so to speak and to know that words don't hurt when they come from someone you don't respect, it might help. As long as you remain upset, so will he. Blessings to you as its not an easy road to tow.

It sounds like the other little boy has been hearing something somewhere and it should have been addressed. I also think that he knew what he was saying was wrong and I think the school lost an excellent teaching moment.
