Thanksgiving Feast 2009

Friday, November 27, 2009

We went to Azel, Texas for Thanksgiving dinner at my childhood best friend's beautiful home. When we arrived the house was smelling so turkeyISH..........yumyum!!!

The first thing we see sitting on the bar is this..

and this..

Can i say yummy??

We had some wonderful side dishes: sausage balls, fudge, stuffed celery, creamed potatoes, glazed carrots, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, and garllic toast. All very, very delish!!!! (consumed in lady-like portions, of course) :)

I went thru all the holidays last year 2008 without indulging in anything more than one Queen Anne chocolate covered cherry a day and I logged that sucker in my tracker every day too :) (angel wings flapping) lol
One of my co-workers said *you're the only person i've ever known that lost weight through the holidays* I just smile....
I knew way back then that there was going to be another Holiday feast, it wasn't so bad to give it up one time! For after all when you play you gotta pay! I was paying! And I was determined, because I kept reminding myself that I could indulge next year on Thanksgiving day and Christmas day without guilt and be thin by the time next year rolled around.. Well next year is here! YAY! I had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with one of my very best friends and enjoyed my dinner without overstuffing and not feeling one bit guilty. I enjoyed this dinner more than ever because I have a healthy respect for food now. Believe me I savored every bite! I didn't log anything yesterday. I have logged everyday since I joined SparkPeople October8th, 2008. I began logging my intake again today and have managed to stay on track. I'm very proud of this accomplishment. I'm maintaining for the very first time ever. What a joy and relief! It isn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I pray that I never have to go through the losing process again.

I hope everyone that reads this had a Wonderful Thanksgiving also!!
but... Don't let one day turn into another and another.................

Great blog. What an awesome experience to have control. I had a pretty good Thanksgiving myself. I find I can maintain self-control on the actual day but it is the leftovers that I have issues with. Yesterday I did pretty good on eating some leftovers but now it's time for me to step away and get back to losing & staying on track. Do you have any ideas in tracking do you solely track with sparks or do you write it down. I have difficulties but I need to change my mind and thinkng about tracking b/c if I want to change this then I got to change my perspective & thinking.. Once again great blog.

I'm SO proud of you! I blogged about Thanksgiving myself. I enjoyed EVERY bite and do not feel a tad guilty either.

I got up today and ran/walked 4 miles with my hubby and we are still talking about what a blessing yesterday was!
