I cannot believe how easy it is to consume so many calories!

I'm not depressed about it right this minute but I'm disappointed in myself. Yesterday I'd have been fine even with the peanut M&Ms but then I had to split a Krispy Kreme with my nephew. Today DH and I were really bad and got Sonic Blasts. We never do that and my stomach is reminding me of why right now. Ugh!

I tried to blame my tight clothes this week on tom but I have to stop that. emoticon

I have the Saints game tonight so I will have a couple of drinks but a pretty decent supper. Then DH is turning (oh my) 40 on Tuesday so we'll be celebrating then. And, of course there is Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I'm going to focus for the next 2 weeks or so on eating quality food (if not exactly within my ranges). Then, in January I'm getting back with the program. Days will start lengthening emoticon and I can work on the activity level again. And, I always do better during Lent which is only 8 or so weeks away.

    Oh yes!! They add up fast - but if you keep to a plan, exercise normally and remember portion control you will get through!!

    I am realizing how much less food it takes to meet my daily caloric limit than I thought. Some days when I input my food to the nutrition tracker, I am shocked at how the calories add up. (And that doesn't even include the peanut butter M&Ms I was snacking on!)

    But, you know what? Like you, I'm going to focus on eating quality food during the next week or so, but I'm also going to enjoy a little fudge because Christmas only comes once a year!

    Acknowledging that calories are always lurking out there ready to pack on our hips is the first step! LOL Now, keep "healthy" choices in mind thoughout the holidays and get ready to kick butt come January! We will do this together!

    Oh, I *know* how easy it is to pack in those calories ... all week, I've been eating like there was a famine-warning on! :) Yeah, it's easy. But it's actually possible to rein it in, even reducing just a TINY bit from each meal helps with the mental strength part of it, and then bit by bit I find myself going from "oh, I want to eat this and this AND this" to "hmm, maybe just a tiny bit of this, and I really don't want any of that". :)

    It works. I didn't say it's easy, but it's definitely doable to overeat and yet not totally BLOW it! :)

    Keep being aware, and I'm thinking you'll come out of the holiday season JUST FINE!

    It's definitely easy to consume so many calories when we're not paying attention or even when we don't realize it. There's been times where I have gone over my calorie intake limit and not even realize it until I log it in. I think that it's definitely something that we need to be careful of.
