Off on the right foot!

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

I know it's only Tuesday but atleast I've done well so far today and did well yesterday. I weighed myself this morning and I'm down a pound so I'll take every little bit I can get. My ticker hasn't been updated either UGHHH Thanksgiving - Christmas was hard for me this year....EXCUSE, I know. I just got in the mind set that I didnt care and would just shrug it off and basically say "oh well, what's the point"?

For Christmas I did get EA Sports for the Wii. I'm really enjoying it a lot. I don't burn a ton of calories, but it does give me somewhat of a good workout. I figure, it would be more of a filler type of a workout. I did 2 workouts today and doing 2 workouts I did work up a sweat and calorie burn was just over 200 calories. Not as much as I see running on the tm or doing P90X, but right now P90X is out of the question, I just don't have it in me, energy, strength to get thru one of the those workouts. I'm starting with this workout and doing the treadmill. Once I start feeling better about myself and getting that motivation, strength and energy back well P90X will be waiting for me.

I have a few obstacles this week....2 dinners out and 1 movie, and dinner at my sis-laws tonight....that shouldn' be too bad...but...she doesnt cook like I do...we are having taco's and she likes to fry the flour tortillas....no thanks. When I tell her not to fry mine...I more than likely will be met with the "oh come on, this is how mom used to make it and everyone loved it".....kinda already met that yesterday when she called----sighhhh why can't family just be supportive?

That's too bad that they're not supportive. I mean, you're not asking for all kinds of special exceptions - just don't fry the tortilla! You're within your right to ask that and it's actually creating LESS work for your SIL. Good luck!

If you can make it through the holidays without gaining, you will have accomplished a lot! Did you see this SP article: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource

Could it be worth running an extra 10 minutes to enjoy some of your traditional family food?

My family accepts that it took a lot for me to lose, and I don't have a lot of "wiggle room". I always volunteer a veggie tray to enhance my survival. Even the guys have begun knoshing on the veggies.
