Where's our Houston sunshine?

Friday, January 08, 2010

It is really, really cold today. Highly unusual for Houston. I only made a mile with the dog after work, and the last five minutes were really hard. I'm convinced it's easier to walk in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity than it is in 33 degree cold and moderate humidity. When it's hot, you can always slow down and take a break. When it's literally freezing, you better keep moving.

I read somewhere that the body burns calories to generate heat to warm itself. Does that mean my walk counts double? emoticon

I agree! I walked one morning on the dam when it was freezing... the cold wind was blowing up and over the dam as I walked. It's hard to stop and rest. In this weather you need a hat and gloves FOR SURE!

I like your way of thinking. It was 17 degrees here today I know I jumped up and down the whole time I was outside each time Bella had to go out (fortunately that wasn't very often today-lol). Hope it warms up for the walks soon.
