Great Day At The Music Festival
Sunday, February 28, 2010
In spite of having a bad cold all week I managed to teach all of my lessons this week and all my students did a super job at the Festival. 11 of my students were chosen for the honors recital which is a big honor, including my student who played the 2nd movement of the Gershwin Concerto that I've been practicing the orchestra part for all week that I play on a second piano!
Now we get to keep practicing 2 more weeks to perform at Merit School of Music on the 14th!
Almost all the other students received superior ratings so it was a great day - however
I did have a choking incident on some broccoli during the lunch break! All the teachers and judges were so sympathetic and concerned that it really made me feel good even though it wasn't fun until it finally digested! All my students that were waiting for me to play the concertos with them were also very concerned and waited there extra time for me to feel better and then all played great! It's so nice to know how much people genuinely care about you and appreciate you.
That's also what's so great about all my friends here on Sparkpeople. Every positive spark ignites another! Have a terrific week and please know how special you all are!!
