Fighting off the marble bundt cake

Wednesday, March 03, 2010

Tax season around our office is crazy, even for my investment team. Long hours, clients coming out of the woodwork, and food everywhere. Cookies, cakes, candy, pizza, frito pie, fried chicken, etc. It is so hard to be a team player but still eat healthy.

Today, however, I managed to say no to that darned bundt cake. Not once, not twice, but three times I was able to decline and just walk away.

Now, to make it through the next 6 weeks. emoticon

Retired tax consultant here…boy do I remember those days, who has time to eat, just grab something on that way between clients, stuff it real fast, whip your chin and smile. After 30 years in the business I can’t say I miss it at all. You are doing a grand job at resisting my friend.

The chocolate covered donuts in the vending machine were what was calling my name yesterday. I was able to withstand it. LOL. I know the feeling.

Good for you...that's some great willpower. I always have veggies in the fridge at work. While their gooey cake certainly looks better, I feel better NOT eating it :)

Great job! the kitchen is a lethal location at our office too - although cutting a small sliver is still OK as long as I adjust the rest of the day. I always ask myself, do I really want that treat? or am I just bored. emoticon emoticon

Good job. You are a very strong woman and I know you can stay strong and stick to your guns. Just take your own healthy snacks with you and stay away from the "good" stuff that is so bad for you.

Wonderful! I'm proud of you. Keep it up, and keep the walking away - that adds to your exercise!

Good job!! I'm so proud of your willpower! I'm thankful every day that I don't have to face that. Celiac has been a true blessing in disguise. Sounds like you need to take in a fruit or veggie tray for yourself. Keep up the good work and if you HAVE to have something, just take about 1/4 of what you normally would (and then eat your healthy lunch).
