Things Change Every Day.

It's amazing how things change so fast and how much energy these kinds of changes take and how it takes a toll on your health.

Last week it seemed that the plan for my mom's recovery from MRSA changed hourly. My brother and sisters who live in California decided we needed to call in my sister from another state to take a turn staying with my dad and visiting my mom.

After I picked her up from the airport (she stayed with me before going on the train to my mom's) we had a moment to sit down and relax and talk. We opened some wine (even though both of us are working on losing weight and being healthy). But, before we knew it, another bottle was opened and consumed. We were both blitzed.

And, neither of us felt very good the next day. To be honest with you, I haven't felt "up to snuff" since we over-indulged. I haven't exercised since that day. Partly because my mother was moved to a teaching hospital down in Southern California where I live, but partly because I still feel kind of crummy. Anyway, my sister and I vowed to each other that we wouldn't do that again. Wine is ok, but not like we drank it.

So I think I'm looking at a gain this week. I have planned to exercise every day and I have good meals planned, so I'll get back on track. I know you can't go back in time, but I hope I remember this episode the next time I feel like taking that extra drink.
