Are Things Settling Down?

Monday, March 15, 2010

I don't even know if I should say that out loud! So my mother had her surgery to remove the infected hip replacement. Now she goes 6 weeks without a hip bone. I needed to find a skilled nursing facility for her to receive her daily antibiotics (through a picc line) and phsical therapy. The family is all very stressed because my mom has almost used up all of her medicare days and the facility is going to be expensive (she needs a private room) when those days are gone.

But, all in all, I think I'm handling it very well. I have my moments. I really felt the pressure coming down on me when I had to choose the facility. I was scared of the rankings and we really didn't have a lot of options. But, after a few tears (and a LITTLE wine) I got through it.

I have to say, EXERCISE is SUCH A HELP! I've always hated to exercise, but I'm loving my treadmill. I can feel it releasing the stress!
