Taking it easy

I've been a little lax about writing stuff down the past week or so. I'm guessing it's because I'm burned out on writing food down after coming off two back-to-back challenges on one of my SparkTeams. What's interesting, though, is that I'm finding that I am NOT using not journaling as an excuse to eat whatever I want. I am still making healthy choices overall, and although I had gained a bit of weight in the middle of this time (which I didn't really record, but I was up a couple of pounds) I am back now to where I was 2 weeks ago.
Over the weekend we drove down to Baltimore to spend the night and do some of the attractions. I couldn't help comparing this trip to our last one. We went down one day last summer to do the Science Center and the Aquarium in the same day and man, was I miserable. They are on opposite sides of the harbor, we had a ton of walking to do, and I was so out of shape that it was horrible for me. This time? Yes, it was a lot of walking, and yes, the rain all weekend was a big factor in it not being as pleasant a trip as it could have been--but I didn't end up exhausted and out of breath and miserable like the last time. We walked from the science center all the way back to our hotel on Friday night, all the way around the harbor and then some, and although I was a bit tired when we got back, it was nothing particularly awful. This bodes well for our planned Disney trip! If I can keep increasing my cardio bit by bit, I know I will be ready for all the walking we'll have to do down there. When we go down, we generally don't rent a car, because we stay on property and the Disney transportation is so good. So there's a fair amount of walking to/from the bus stops in addition to all the walking in the parks. I can't wait to actually be able to do it without feeling like I want to die at the end of the day. Plus--depending on how much weight I lose between now and then, I am hoping to be able to ride Space Mountain without feeling self-conscious about my size. Here's hoping!! :)
