Hello my fellow sparklers! As you might remember, I was really nervous about February and gaining weight during my birthday month... and I did. I actually did really good until AFTER the big party and it was all downhill from there. So I gained back 5lbs of the 35 I had lost. I know it will come off, I just need to use my nutrition tracker consistently.
Half marathon is this weekend, I'm a little nervous, not gonna lie about that. I have come to realize that the 5k's and 10k's I've done in the past have all been in the summer or the fall, which means the weather is great for training. I don't know how ya'll in snow country do it, because I can't run when it's 50 degrees outside without feeling like I'm inhaling icicles! I know people walk 1/2 marathons, I know people walk full marathons! While I do not intend on walking the entire 13.1 miles, I know that I will probably walk a good portion of it, because I haven't been training like I should. But I promise you I will be there, and I will be a finisher!
On a super duper happy note... Once upon a time, probably a year ago, maybe a little more, I walked into Panda Express and saw a former employee who said "Laura, what happened to you? You got fat!" She did not mean this as an insult, she was just stating the obvious. Had she been born here in America, I might have had to kick her in the teeth, but she wasn't and so I don't hold it against her. Ok, here's the happy part. Yesterday I went in to Panda because my daughter wanted Orange Chicken and this former employee says "Laura, have you lost weight? It looks like you lost a lot of weight!" and another former employee says "Yes, you look a lot younger!" hahaha LOVED IT!
So I hope to be back here in April telling you that I've lost the 5lbs that I gained, and I'll fill you in on my race then.
