Here We Go Again- Stripping Away My Excuses!!!
Wednesday, March 24, 2010
I've allowed my hectic work schedule to pull me off track and I've gained back a lot of the weight I lost last year. I began SparkPeople in Sept. 2006 at 289 lbs and lost to 232. I now weigh a whopping 267 again gaining back 35 lbs (but still down 22.) This is CRAZY Why do I allow myself to backslide so poorly after so much success!?
So, Here we go again! I am re-committing -- NO EXCUSES -- I commit to exercise and choosing the healthier choices.
I've signed up to hike Mt. LeConte www.leconte-lodge.com/
which is 5.5 miles up (and 5.5 miles back down.) It's like 8 hours on a stair-machine for me. This means I MUST begin training for the hike now and try to get that extra 35 lbs off before the climb!
Those of you who have Sparked along with me know how much I LOVE positive quotes so here are a few of my favorites to get me going again:
"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results."
I love this quote by Dr. Oz & Dr. Roizen- "You on A Diet" --
"It's easy to say you're too tired, too stressed, too busy, too this or too that. Too bad. The only way you'll strip away the fat is to start by stripping away the excuses."
And this one from Ralph Waldo Emerson --
"Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail."
And I'll end this first of many positive blogs with this quote:
-------------- "It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up."
