Out With the Old and in With the New!

Thursday, April 01, 2010

Well, Its been over a month since my last blog so I guess its about due. I have been trying very hard to get into spring cleaning. With my back pain it has been more thinking about than actually doing. I guesstimate that when my spring cleaning is done, I will have donated about 10 garbage bags full of useful items to my church. The youth have yard sales to earn money so I like to donate anything I can.

Part of my donation was two garbage bags full of skinny jeans. Eight years ago I wore a size 12-14. I kept the jeans all this time praying I would get back into them. Then I realized. By the time I get back down to that size (if I ever do), those jeans will be way out of style :P So I gave up all the clothes that don't fit me as of today. Much as it was such a relief to get back a small area in my room I was keeping all this, it was not easy to do especially since my back has brought such an increase in weight.

As I have been going through household items and putting to use the phrase, "Out with the old and in with the new" I have also put that to my appearance in the ways I knew I could.
I found out 2 weeks ago I needed glasses and last Friday I picked them up and have been wearing them constantly (except when sleeping of course) ever since. I was quite confused on what to think, the first time I wore the glasses in public. It seemed not a single person noticed the change. I thought negative at first, that maybe they paid such little attention to me that they didn't realize that I had never worn them before hand. Then a friend gave me a new way to think. Maybe, they just look so natural, it was hard to believe I didn't always wear them. I don't know which one is the truth, but I know which one Im gonna believe to be!!!! Positive thinking rocks!!!!

Okay, so new clothes (had to buy some to replace the old ones), new glasses, and tada, NEW HAIRDO. They say the hair makes the woman. Well, I am no typical woman. I have NO patience for something like curling or blow drying my hair. I like the natural look. Give me a hairdo I can brush my hands through and go. Well I got it. Went from mid back to barely shoulder length. Oh and the kicker? I tried to go red! Thats not that easy when you been dying your hair black for 10 years. So now it looks like I went black with red streaks :P Its ok though I like it.

So, as they say, OUT WITH THE OLD!!!!

The look not the adorable baby!!!

IN WITH THE NEW

:)

God Bless Everyone!

You look GREAT!! I recently had a new makeover, hairstyle and hair color, after having the same one for about 15 years or more. I'm not sure who I shocked the most, other people or myself. lol..I'm getting so many compliments, it's unreal. For us ladies I think it's very important to look good regardless of our size or shape. If we look good then we feel good. While it is VERY important to eat healthy and drop those extra pounds, I think we can still look good and dress stylish and like ourselves. You keep doing whatever you need to do to feel good about yoursef, it will give you better self esteem too. I know for i've been there too,
