I think things are getting back to normal....

Sunday, April 04, 2010

Well fellow sparkers I am feeling some relief from the slump I have been in. My hubby had his yearly liver check up and all his blood tests and his ultrasound turned out normal. Liver enzymes are in normal ranges, liver still is good sized and most importantly NO CANCER!!! I might have mentioned before that because he has liver disease he is a prime candidate for liver cancer. The old woman(me) has been taking good care of him and making sure he eats good. Since one of my other great talents is nagging....he is working hard at breaking his smoking habit because if you read the last blog he has COPD just starting in his lungs. So if we can get rid of the COPD sticks we will be good to go but I remind him frequently about that just in case he forgets his goal. So with all the checkups he has lately turning out good...I am so relieved!!!

So this weekend I had a huge surge of energy so I cleaned the kitchen, washed up our farm eggs, cleaned aquariums and groomed dogs.... the biggie that took up all day yesterday! If you didn't notice my status, I groomed for 9 hours yesterday and about another hour today. Yes my dogs were a mess and SHAME ON ME for letting things get that bad. That isn't like me to do that but a lot of things had been getting neglected around here over the past few months due to whatever it was I was going through. Oh and I am baby sitting this weekend...the kids went out to Nebraska for Easter and left me and hubby alone with another one of their babies....Katie

Their little rat terrier
Here is my Shih Tzu, Mya...sleeping on hubby's lap where it is nice and warm. She went from her winter long hair style to her summer clip that is short and kinda chilly today. She was shivering...poor baby!!

Lets not forget about Opie our Jack Russels TERROR! He got a bath and nails trimmed.

He is sitting on hubby's legs warming his butt I guess LOL!
Here his is looking innocent but I am not buying that look for one minute! He is full of P&V!

And last but not least is my master piece...my Standard Poodle Angus. I decided on giving him a dutch clip today. So many styles and so little time! Owning a poodle is a ton of work but I love how he looks when I am done. Makes me so proud and he is such a regal looking fellow.

Oh by the way I looked up how many calories you burn while grooming dogs and they said that at my weight I burn 475 calories per hour...do the math..a whooping 4275 calories burned. I am now in a size 4 LOLOLOL YEA RIGHT!!! Maybe my foot would fit into a size 4!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter weekend. Mine was quiet without the kids but I got a bunch accomplished. Been back to hitting the exercises last week....ALL WEEK! Didn't miss a day...although I would try to find excuses I would grab myself by the collar and drag my big butt out and plop it on my ski machine!

So there ya have it....Thanks to all who have been there for me through thick and thin....or is that fat and skinny???? Got the fat part done but working on the skinny!

Great blog. Angus' cut is pretty much what Maggie has except the back and sides are real short but not shaved. How handsome is he? They look like they are wearing pants. Your shihtzu is a cutie. So are Opie and Katie.

Glad you got good news for hubby. That makes it good news for you too.

Have a super spring day today.

You are so wonderful! And thank you for posting how many calories you burn grooming a poodle. Do you burn more if your poodle wiggles, sits down, jerks away from the clippers, etc? Angus looks great, and I need that Bart Simpson cartoon posted on my mirror.

I hope you have a great week.

Cheers for a more Ruthy Ruth!!! Such good news about Mark! Your pooches look divine! I think I'm in love with Opie...what a cutie! One of my best friends from high school grew up grooming dogs at her mom's shops (the Welcome Wag Inn and Groomingdale's, both on Long Island) and now has her own. I KNOW what a handful they can be! Great visuals! You take that ski machine by the horns like you're out there bullriding with your toughest cowboy heroes! Yee Haw, crazy bird lady is back in the saddle!!! And that ain't no bull!

I'm glad to see that things are getting brighter in your world. Don't forget to do the Victor Dance when you're convinced that the snow is completely done!
