Yes I am completely NUTTY over fishing...as if you didn't notice! We finally bought our license and headed out. Didn't catch anything but just sitting there on the river bank enjoying my Grandson learning to cast with his little rod was just to much fun. He finally got the hang of it and just went bonkers casting his little bobber(with no hook of course) out in the river and we all laughed when his little rat terrier would retrieve it and bring it back. Although he got a little ticked off at her because HE wanted to reel it in. LOL!
All of the wonderful things that nature has to offer was enjoyed by all. Eagles flying over head, Canadian geese flying just above the rivers surface vocalizing with each other, swallows circling and picking up mud from the banks to make their nests, kingfishers diving to get their catch of the day, the smell of our campfire and all of the wonderful sounds of nature that weren't within our vision but one can sit and put a name to every critter you hear. To me it is so stimulating and so peaceful that it didn't matter that I didn't catch any fish.

We also spent most of the start of our Saturday hitting city wide garage sales. My kids, hubby and I had a fun day looking for bargains and enjoying the day together. Then we ended up at a local garden center and bought some new plants for our beautiful garden area.
My daughter is still be monitored for eclampsia as she is on her second urine panel this weekend and she has had some stress tests. Her BP must be closely monitored but we are only 3 weeks away from her scheduled C section May 14th. I will be glad when that little guy is here so we can stop worrying about him and Mom. My husband finally quit smoking and last weeks doctor appointment to our lung specialist revealed his oxygen levels are up and his lung functions are much better then before.

His temperament right now leaves a little bit to be desired but he has smoked all of his life so this has been very trying for him. But you all know who is going to get the brunt of his withdrawal....

I am still struggling with getting back into the routine of exercise again...just concentrating on getting my usual spring chores accomplished. Last weeks coop cleaning left me terribly sore and so I spent another week trying to heal up from that but I have some very happy chickens now!
Weight is still staying the same and has been since Christmas but I am still on track with my nutrition just need to get back to moving my booty again. Going to give it another shot this week to get back on track...no excuses now!!

I may not spend as much time online as I did this winter because I am going to enjoy this summer with a crazy vengeance! It is already going by so quickly and then another winter will be upon us again. So I am not baling on you just putting in some serious "ME" time.

Thank you all for hanging in there with me and understanding all the ups and downs that I have experienced over the past few months...I love ya all very much!!

I'm SO glad that you finally went fishing! It sounds like you and your family had a really great day together. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for your daughter and the newest little one. I can understand why you need some time for yourself, as you've been under stress over your daughter and your hubby, not to mention the winter from he!! with all of that snow! Recharge your batteries Ruth and enjoy your 'me' time. I'm really glad that your hubby quit smoking, and very happy to hear that his lung function is better.

It sounds like you had a great weekend with the family.

Glad to hear that your hubby has quit smoking. I hope he'll stick with it.

I've needed to put some me time in from time to time and sometimes disappear for a few weeks. But most of my spark friends welcome me back. So, do what you need to do and we'll be here waiting for you.

SparkPeople is ultimately about investing in ME Time, so don't apologize....just spark when you can fit it in. Sounds like a lovely spot you have for fishing, I just love to listen to nature when it's "still". Amazing what you hear and see. Congratulations to Mark for kicking the butts! And remember that all that work to keep a home and a farm running is exercise, give yourself some credit earning that sore body. Have a good week and don't stress! hugs, Kim emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
