-- Well I looked at my calendar today and it's been 29 days since I tried to get my healthy habits back in line. And I have to say I've been pretty proud of myself this far. I track everything that goes in my mouth every day (I love this, kinda lets me know how much wiggle room I have with my calories everyday.) And I try to exercise everyday or every other day on the treadmill. But what I love most is that I'm more active with my children. We went to the store and bought a backpack and some water bottles, hats, sunscreen and sunglasses so we can go on hikes. There are a lot of trials around here and the kids thought it was great. We go hike on these trails and look for bugs and other things plus we see lots of animals like deer and foxes. Then we have our lunches then hike back.

My progress.

As some of you know, I never look at a scale to see my weight number. My progress meter on SP is just a guess. I don't even own a scale. I see it that if I don't know, I don't get disappointed. But just judging by my clothes alone I can tell I am making progress. I was able to move my belt buckle 2 to 3 more holes, some shirts that were to tight now fit normally and I just feel better. I can run up the stairs now and not be winded. And this is from only 1 month. Sure I am still far from my goal, but I feel like I'm making my way there. And I'm looking forward to more hikes with my kids.

My Plan:

- Track everything I eat. Every time I'm done eating something I try to rush to the computer and track it.

- Bad calorie days. Sure, I have bad calorie days where I have gone to a restaurant and I had eaten way to much, but hey, tomorrow is a new day.

- If I want something sweet I try not to have candy, but a cup of tea. I love Earl Grey!

- Being more active. Instead of sitting on a bench at the park watching my kids, I try to play games with them or push them on the swing. And while I watch TV I lay on the floor doing some push ups, sit ups or using my 5lb weights for my arms and legs.

    Good for you. It sounds like your plan is working for you and I must say looking at the scale everyday like I do can be self-defeating. Congratulations on the goals and sticking with it.
