Do you believe ignorance is bliss?

Friday, May 07, 2010

When it comes to going to the doctors I cant imagine those friends of mine who seem to think ignorance is bliss and you have to practically pull them kicking and screaming to get even serious stuff looked at. I on the other hand am one of those that go at the slightest chance of something serious. Now, be sure you read that right, I said something serious not go over every little thing. There is a fine line there and I want to make sure it is clear I am not on the side of the hypochondriacs. Been there before but will save that for another time and place! :P

So, for those who put off going to the doctors I ask, what happens if that change you think is so mild and that you will get used to, was simply a warning sign and could have prevented something serious like cancer if it was detected early??? That is my biggest fear, letting something slide because I think it is mild and finding out later something could be prevented. I dont rush off to a doctor at every little thing, but I do make a list and give it to my primary doctor every time I go in.

So, on to the real reason I am writing thing blog. I am a bit worried. I have had some severe dizzy spells that have baffled my doctors as of yet. They ran MANY blood tests and all that good stuff, and nothing seems to stand out as to why. The oddest part? I get them every time I lay down and try to move at all (toss or turn in bed, reach to turn off a lamp while in bed). I also get them when I change elevation, but unless its laying to sitting or standing, its not all that bad, the laying is what is just kicking me in the rear.

On one hand I am quite scared because I have never experienced anything quite like it before. I mean when I was younger I had seizures and this is nothing that bad, but it is very discouraging since I already deal with so much medically. On one hand I really want to know what is causing it in the event it can be treated/cured, but Im almost afraid of what it could be as well... Please keep this situation in your prayers, I really need to try to put my mind at ease with it.

Along the same lines, I got my front teeth out and was supposed to be fitted for my partial, but my mouth ( a bit over 1 week later is still very swollen and swore. It is very aggravating because the lack of teeth already make eating tough, but to be tender too really makes things worst. Well Im going to see if this blog is going to work right and post this. God Bless all and thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Ask your Dentist to check your alignment and provide info with regards to the dizzy spells you have been suffering.

There may be a correlation between them. You may have TMJ which can cause dizziness at times so very severe and your Dentist should be able to diagnosis this for you. If not you can be sent to a specialist.

My suggestion to you is return to your Dentist and discuss your concerns.

Continued prayers for your good health, that the doctors find the source of your dizziness and for the dentist's work to take away your mouth discomfort. Hang in there and know people here care about you. -- Lou
