Anything Is Possible w\Workouts & Fruits - My Cholesterol Is DOWN, YES!

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

Hi Everyone,

I had new bloodwork done the end of May and got my test results back this morning. It's official. I was able to get off the high cholesterol medication in three months. I have been working out as much as I can. I also made some changes to my food intake and started replacing my breakfast meals with frozen fruit and protein along with skim or almond milk. Well my cholesterol is under 159 in ONLY three months. When the doctor told me that I was like are you sure. She asked me what I had been doing and I told her I limited my meat intake to only a couple times per week. My rule is I only do four legged animals (beef and pork) now maybe once or twice a week at a maximum. All other two legged animals, chicken and turkey I eat a few days a week along with fish as much as I want. This is truly amazing to me. I asked the doctor if I should wean myself off and she said I could do that or I could just stop today. She will order bloodwork again in August to check my levels and that I should continue to do what I'm doing. I left there so happy and proud of myself. I haven't been able to work out as much with all the house and yard projects going on, but I'm going to try my best to get more miles in real soon. So cut back on your meat intake and just add more fruit and it will truly cleanse and heal the body. I am living proof that you can heal yourself with the right foods. Take one day at a time and push yourself to love yourself more and do something for you. SInce I hate to eat fruit all by itself when it's sitting in that fruit bowl, I pulled out my blender and got creative and started to freeze my fruits that would go bad on the counter. Now I have a nice cool healthy blend of fruit each day. What's crazy is that I feel like I'm cheating when I don't eat my fruit smoothie in the mornings. Now I only have eggs or salmon croquettes or oatmeal on the weekends.

So everyone, stay encouraged and keep fighting the good fight.

If you believe in your possibilities the sky is the limit.

emoticon on your test results... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon ...

I have started eating more plant based meals myself and eating more fruits and veggies... at one time I was almost a vegetarian, eating a lot of soy, but because of the bc, I have to cut down on all soy products, but that's ok because I can eat more beans and wheat gluten or seitan...

I know you feel better knowing that you have found something that works for you... I am proud of you as well as inspired and motivated to keep on doing what I need to do... with determination, patience and perseverance, WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!

Take care... keep up the good work... ~ Dee ~ emoticon

Congrats on lowering your Cholesterol!!! You are definitely on the right track. A few years ago, I lost 35 pounds by eating fruit for breakfast. My cholesterol dropped by 30 points. Today, I pulled out the book that got me there, this week I'm starting all over again to regain those benefits.
The book I used is called "Fit For Life" by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. They advocate eating only fruit and fruit juices until 12 noon every day. According to them, the body is in it's elimination cycle in the morning, so it's important to eat fruit and fruit juices so your body can properly eliminate waste and toxins.
They also support eliminating or reducing the about of meat you eat. Replacing them with vegetarian meals. The most important part of the book talks about how to combine food properly to aid in losing weight. I love this book!!! Your testimony to eating fruit supports their findings that we can be fit for life. If you get an opportunity, check out the book. You should get the original "Fit For Life" book to get the basics of the program. Don't buy "Fit For Life II", it doesn't have the basics of eating fruit and food combining. Keep up the good work! Good luck!!!

Huge emoticon on your cholesterol. I am not a fan of taking medicine at any time. I also recently had blood work done. I even got an Ironman bandaid to prove it.

Unfortunately, or should say, fortunately, my numbers came back normal. Darn! I've got nothing to blame for this weight.

So what are you using to make your smoothies sweet? I blended fresh fruit before and it's not sweet by itself. Did you acquire a taste for the au natural? Do tell.

That is so totally awesome!!! I am doing the same thing, except mainly for my blood sugar. My cholesterol was at 181 last time, but I want to bring it down more and my blood pressure has started to eek up. I love red meat, but I have to tell myself that I want to be healthy more than anything!! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your inspiring story!
