Checking In

It's been a while since I've last written and I think it's about time. Things have slowed down, probably since I've gotten lazy with the exercising. I decided to get that bumped back up and hired a personal trainer. Mike is the sensei for the boys' Jiu Jitsu and he also does personal training. We met last Thursday for the first time to discuss my goals, get some baseline info and do a small session. We will meet twice weekly and he will have things for me to do when we aren't meeting. I walked on Friday and Saturday (and decided to take today off). I'm hoping this will help the weight come off a bit faster again. I've still been losing just by eating healthy and making better choices so I'm sure the increased exercise can only help.

My oldest son will be joining me for the personal training sessions and possibly also my daughter. I can't be selfish with my exercise I guess. Hopefully they won't wait until their 40s to decide it's time to live healthier. We have all be doing better. Henk has lost about 30 pounds, I'm down 25, and Adrianna has lost about 15. Will is looking leaner and eatinger much healthier. Piet didn't have any weight to lose but his also making healthier choices which should serve him well for the rest of his life.

I think it might be time for a new profile pic. I've bought clothes that are mostly size 14 and I even have a few 12s that I'm wearing. I also treated myself to some new underwear (down two sizes) and some new bras (from a 42C down to 38B). I'm wearing nothing larger than a L and even some Ms. I was starting to feel tired again but I think that has a large part to do with the lack of exercise. I also treated myself to an iPod which helps greatly when I'm walking. I might even start adding some running to my walks.

I have been slacking a bit with the cooking at home. I will get back to that as well. It's cheaper and we all like trying new things without having to peruse a menu to find the choices that aren't too bad versus eating things that are downright good for us. This is the season to experiment. I also vow to make time to visit some local Farmer's Markets for some fresh choices.

I also have been slacking with my water intake and have been working on getting that back on track.

You're doing so great! Most importantly, is Mike cute? That can motivate!!

Size 14 is my goal size, just so you know! I was a 14 on a good day when I was 15 (but mostly size 16) and that's what I want to get back to.

I am enjoying learning how to cook new things too.

    Keep up the wonderful progress!

Geesh, you get back on track and the weight will just melt away! Wish I could be as good as you without exercising!

You keep saying you're lazy and slacking, but your new clothing sizes and decision to take charge by getting an iPod and hiring a personal trainer do not sound lazy and slacking to me at ALL! Sometimes progress is slower in some areas than other, but it sounds like you are actively pursuing your goal to be healthier. Way to go & keep it up!
Just give yourself some credit for the good things you ARE doing.

    Hi there,
You sure sound like you are on the right track!
I found your blog encouraging to me. To read where someone else is trying to can only help me.
I hope you get the exercise back too. I am one who has gone on and off the exercise and I'm completely convinced now that when I'm exercising I diffinitely have more energy.
Or any at all , in my case. lol
Good luck and keep up the great work.
