My Son's wedding w/ pictures..

Friday, July 09, 2010

The wedding trip was so much fun! We swam in the biggest pool I have ever seen, went kayaking & to the beach. Our son, son-in-law & the groomsmen played volleyball, horseshoes & basketball. There were paddle boats, snorkeling & sailing too.

Our new Daughter-in-law looked so beautiful in her dress and my son was very handsome in his suit. It was a bright sunny day and the ceremony was lovely! It did sprinkle a little during the wedding, but it cleared up quickly for the pictures. The bride said the rain was her deceased mothers tears.

They did a sand ceremony that I have never seen before. It was perfect for a beach wedding. The groom had a small pitcher of black sand & the bride had white sand. They poured their sand into a heart shaped bottle at the same time so that the black & white sand was all mixed together. It represented their separate lives becoming one. Very moving.

We had a fun time at the reception. One friend had recorded a mix of favorite songs & there was lots of dancing to all types of music. I had a special dance with my son & the bride & groom both won the limbo competition.

The resort was very beautiful & I took lots of pictures of wildlife & flowers too. We saw hermit crabs everywhere, lizards & a Jamaican cockroach that was 2 1/2" long and had beautiful colors.

We did a lot of walking. Most days I got in over 11000 steps & that did not include time in the pool. I also ate a lot, so I did not lose any weight.
They wedding was on our last day there and my dress still fit, so I did not do too bad! I got lots of complements on my dress. I worked hard on my arms to look good in it without the jacket. It was a very hot day.

This is the best picture of me in my dress taken with my camera. I hope someone else got a better shot. I am with my son & daughter at the reception.

Thank you to all my Sparkfriends who sent their well wishes for the wedding!

Looks like all had a good time. You look like you received a wonderful tan. It showered in the morning on my wedding day almost 17 years ago they say:

Many cultures believe that rain on your wedding day is good luck. In the Hindu tradition rain on the wedding day is considered lucky, as it is believed to foretell a strong marriage. The logic behind this belief is that a wet knot is more difficult to untie. (Getting married is often referred to as “tying the knot.”) So if it rains on your wedding day you will have a long, happy marriage.
