No Insulin..Yahoo

Monday, July 19, 2010

I am type 2 diabetic and have just started Jenny Craig. With starting the program I have been very carefully monitoring my sugar. I have not had to take insulin before my meals for the last 4 days. My sugar has not been over 120 and it's amazing. I am still taking my night time lantus shot and Metformin 2x a day. But the fact that I can reduce my shot at all is just amazing. I've heard many different view points on the Jenny Craig program, but for me right now it's working, it's helping. I'm starting to drop weight and my sugars have been better than they have in a very long time. My first weigh in on Saturday I'm down 5 pounds, my sugar being on a good track is better than the weight loss. I've been coping with the loss of my dad who passed away in December. I just haven't been able to regroup. I keep trying and just haven't been able to. I think the Jenny Craig program has given me a much needed break. I haven't had to think about much and really enjoy knowing that my food is ready and prepared. I eat on time and what I'm supposed. Although I know this program is a stepping stone and not a long term solution it's certainly something that's helping me for the moment. I feel good and I feel hopeful.
