Be careful walking your dog

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Took my puppy to a friends the other day. The puppy (Tiny) had seen another dog....he ran around my legs so fast that I was on the ground. I hurt so bad thought I broke some thing. Went to ER and just badly bruised my hip..well for some one that's over the age of 50 you really have to watch not to fall. So now I have to rest and pop pain pills..no exercises for a couple of weeks....that sucks.
I was just getting back on track and doing so well...

So just be careful walking your dog! ! !

Sorry to hear you hurt yourself. I bought a B-Day card recently that had a doctor on the front and it said to avoid procedures that end in "oscopy or ectomy and..." (the punch line inside said) "Never turn down painkillers." LOL

Good advice about being careful around pets. Louie always walks in front of me when we go outside, but he is not on a leash. We only put him on a leash when we go out of the yard. So I just play follow the leader. He does lay in my path in the bedroom sometimes so I just try not to trip over him and if I say "let me get by " he gets up and moves.

This is also good advice for people with cats. My cats used to drive me crazy walking in front of me then stopping suddenly. They would also wind around my legs. They were just trying to give me some kitty love. When Bo Bo the cat and Susie the beagle are visiting I have to be more careful because they both get under my feet.

I'm glad you're OK, but I really know what you mean about getting tangled in the leash and by the dog's behavior. One of my most difficult injuries to come back from was when I tripped over the dog IN MY OWN BEDROOM!

So good caution! Watch for errant pets!

My 2 dogs leash gets tangled all the time! Sometimes around my legs. So far, hv not fallen down & at the same time teaching both dogs to walk at my side without bumping into each other & into me.

Take care, thank God u r ok!!! emoticon
