Feeling inspired...

Thursday, September 02, 2010

Well, I am back from Vegas! In fact, I have been back nearly a week! I told myself that when I got back I was going to focus entirely on my new-found healthy lifestyle. I have been doing really well in the exercise area considering I am just coming off an excellent vacation. I have logged 200 minutes of fitness this week. That includes a 50 minute Jillian Michaels fat burning cardio interval exercise tape. I have never really been one to do an exercise tape. They feel so impersonal or something. This one was recommended to me, so I had to try it. If you are looking for a good workout dvd I am suggesting this to you!! I have to say, I really like it overall! There are some challenging moves, and I can work some strength training in if I use some weights!! I like it! So, maybe I will commit to doing that at least once a week. I know if I do it to much i will become bored with it. Overall, I am feeling good about where I am with my fitness. I have a 4 mile race coming up at the end of the month, and I am pretty sure I am going to be ready for it. That feels good.

So, now to the point of this blog (now that I am finishing stroking my own ego). I am feeling inspired because I read something on Spark today that really made me think. It said "someone busier than you is running right now". Now, I like to think of myself as a pretty busy person. I am pretty sure I only like to think that because I love to have an excuse! I am not abnormally busy. I have time to watch my favorite tv shows in the evening! This morning I set my alarm to go to the gym early, most mornings I am pretty good about getting up. This morning I convinced myself that I need the extra hour of sleep because I had a busy day ahead of me. I totally could have went and worked out!! I am sure someone far busier than me was at the gym this morning. Hopefully next time I try to convince myself that I don't need to get up or that I don't have time to stop into the gym for a little while I remember that.

Hope everyone is having a great week!! Yayy for a holiday weekend!

Glad you had a good time on the vacation! emoticon on the minutes and doing the dvd. They help, especially on days you just don't really have the time to trek to the gym but still want to get your sweat on. Keep up the great work. emoticon
