My miraculous 2lb loss

After a month of nothing but sensible eating and more exercise than I've done for a long time, my plateau has finally been broken with a drop of 2lbs! Wonderful MINIMOE got me thinking and I decided to change my exercise routine to see if I could shake my system up a bit - and it worked!

I've been walking my dog for at least an hour every day but that was more or less it. Although I've been increasing the number of steps, the speed and, most recently the gradients and terrain, it wasn't really having much impact. On Monday I dusted down the resistance bands, the side stepper and exercise bike I used to hop on with no trouble before my accident and very gingerly began my new routine (on top of the walking). I've had problems with balance so I was quite nervous getting on but once there it was great! I've worked out a sensible programme with proper rest days - and hey presto! 2lbs have disappeared!

I know it's early days but I'm feeling so much more energetic and positive. I was feeling so good today that I even measured my waist for the first time since joining Sparkpeople - 2.5 inches have gone! What a boost! I have started a charity shop pile of clothes I never intend to wear again and, to quote JAKEANDNELLIE, life is good.

Many thanks to my wonderful Sparkfriends. Yet again they've come to my rescue when I was despairing. This is how I know that this is the last diet I shall ever do.
