Final Day Of FITS Challenge ~ The Main Event

Saturday, September 25, 2010

At the beginning of FITS, we all picked different races that we wanted to train for. I picked the 10K jog. At first I thought that this would be a bad idea because I didn't think that I would be able to run for a long time. Well, I have since changed my thinking on this because I can run for a long time. I have found that as long as I keep giving myself a pep talk, I can get through with running for a long period of time. So today was the day for me to attempt my 10K. Well I didn't get to run/walk the 10K like scheduled, but I was able to do a 5K instead! I changed due to physical issues and my asthma trying to act up. I don't feel defeated at all because I am proud of myself for even attempting it. If anything it has sparked my interest in keeping up with my running. I am even looking into finding some local 5K to run in either later on this year or starting the beginning of next year. I know for sure that I will be doing a lot of racing next year as I am working my way up towards running a marathon in Disney World and Disneyland in 2012 with two co-workers. I am very excited to actual have something to look forward to and to know that I won't be doing it alone. Its nice to see that a secret wish of wanting to run in a marathon is coming true!

Congratulations, Dannielle! Good luck with the races you want to run too, I know you can do it. I think it would be fun to run a race in Disneyland.
