Doc visit, mixed progress

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Well, the doc wants me to document intake and exercise for a month before considering whether or not an increase in thyroid medication is appropriate. In 2 months time, my weight is the same but my measurements are not. My waist is down 1 inch, my belly is down 2 inches, and my thigh is down 1/2 inch. Seems to me there has to be some fat loss in that.

The main thing though, it that I have to get stricter if I want to show some progress in a month and NOT have the doc try to get me on the Hallelujah diet. That diet is a modified fast where you drink veggies all day (reconstituted barley grass and 8 glasses of fresh carrot juice and then have rice, fish, and veggies at supper)-- way too extreme and non-functional for me. So, I saw the scale move when I ate starches at lunch and dinner only. breakfast = cottage cheese and fruit, snack = protein, vegetable and fruit. I saw progress until the weekend when things changed and there were more grains and extras.

So, here I go, stepping it up. Fits well with my 12 week countdown plan!

Your measurements probably indicate that you are building muscle, which takes up less space but keeps your weight the same.
