The story so far,......I'm committed to reaching my goal of healthy lifestyle, and reaching a healthy BMI, so far lost 10lbs put on 3lbs,and i'm 9 months into this journey. I'm tracking my food and doing more exercise and weights than ever before, but still not losing weight steadily, in fact this week I've done 4,500 cals of extra exercise I've been swimming about 4km aweek instead of running. My husband has had this bright idea that he will do a half ironman but he hates swimming so guess who he wants to do the swim leg?
So today I committed to swimming 2km in an ocean race! I bought a wetsuit and then I swam 2km in open water.
It took me 60 minutes to swim the 2km and I need to do it in 45mins or our team (me and my husband wont make the cutoff)
So lots more training to do,
this week I have swam 8km so my arms are a bit tired,
next week I'm doing a open water swim clinic so hopefully that will give me some tips.
The race is in May and I will compete in some other races leading up to it, so wish me luck,.......
I may even finally lose some weight,
today swimming the 2km for an hour in the choppy, pounding seas, felt like I was trying to swim for my life..........just like reaching a healthy BMI is like taking control of my weight is also for my life,
its one of the hardest things I've ever done!
