What are you waiting for?

Monday, November 01, 2010

I have to admit it! I LOVE NOVEMBER 1st! And this year...I HAVE A GOOD REASON!

See...November 1st is normally the day I start hearing people say..."Next year..."! They are talking about losing weight! They are talking about exercising! They are talking about being nicer! They are talking about... well you get the picture!

I don't blame them...I USED TO BE ONE OF THEM!

But this year...I am smarter...wiser...more focused...IN IT FOR ME!

So the question...why would you KNOWINGLY WAIT for 2 months, 61 days, 1/6 of a year to take your health, life, and mind back? Why?

Look back at 2 months of YOUR JOURNEY. HOW MUCH DID YOU ACCOMPLISH ON A "GOOD" TWO MONTHS? What if you could have another GREAT TWO MONTHS?

If you read this...you are not waiting...even if you currently have limitations...you can do SOMETHING...but...do you know someone who is?

My point...and I DO HAVE ONE...if each person that read this sparked ONE PERSON...think how much healthier the WORLD could be...how much better YOU would feel...how good inspiring someone else could make YOU feel!

LOVE NOVEMBER 1st...go...start it...WITH A SPARK!

Thank you for that eye opener....why wait? That is a good question. You made me think about that one. I have made some progress in my goals and life but still have more goals to meet.
Thank you for helping me with that.

I used to do it because of some weird compulsion to start things on the first of a week or the first of a month. So glad I started my SP journey on the very day I found out about it, a Wednesday at the end of July! Broke that habit and broke through to a 19-lb weight loss so far. The next two months mean at least 10 more pounds, so no, not waiting, not pausing, not paying any attention to the holiday treats that stand in my way--it's ON!!

So true. I just sparked somebody the other day and her comment was, "I just don't have time." I used to use that excuse. I still don't have time but I do it anyway. Life is too short to live it unhealthy. Live up to your fullest potential and life can't help but be awesome. Here is to the next two months! May they be the best in health you have ever experienced.

Thanks Todd - I've purposefully increased my cardio plan for this month, starting today (actually last Friday). Each time I do cardio - 1 hour, with a heart rate monitor to make sure I get above my targeted heart rate.

Oh I so agree, Todd, I was one of those people I would say Jan one I am..... do you know why because it gave me two months to eat like there was no tomorrow, and fluff off.. well not this year my plan is to work harder, and keep doing what I have bene doing for the past 11 months. and that is eat healthy, and live healthy..
    Great blog my friend....

Oh how glad I am that last March when I heard about SP and decided to start it on March 19 that I did not just say, "Wow that would be a good idea, I think I will make that my next year's New Year's Resolution and start it then". I would have lost not just the next two months but the last 7+ months too! And I would not have met all my wonderful SparkFriends and Teammates! I will have to think of that every time I even think about putting anything off!

My son Erik, of whom I have written before, is home from rehab. He needs round the clock care. While talking to his potential caregivers I told them about our journey, and how Erik was my motivation to stick with SparkPeople-because when he is able to vocalize his thoughts, he will comment on my loss of 27+ pounds. How because I needed a way to work on my stress levels and something positive to focus on when he was in such a terrible condition those months after his motorcycle accident.
I have tried to start a few sparks and I will continue to do so. emoticon

I started *sparking* when I first joined SP. Now, I tell everyone I meet - especially friends and family who I haven't seen in a while. They see the *difference* in me, especially my attitude.

My goal is to lead by example. Actions have always spoken louder to me than any blah, blah, blah, especially the nay-sayers. So when someone asks *what's different in your life* - especially someone who's READY to take responsibility for their life and stop putting off what they can do today, I become a human firecracker!

SPARK ON, PEOPLE! SHINE BRIGHT THE LIGHT THAT LIVES IN YOU! IT'S YOUR LIFE...and there's no better moment than this one!!!

I second that! Most people say (yes, I've said it, too) they don't HAVE time. But the way I've started looking at it is this: if we don't MAKE time for the things that matter, then when we finally HAVE time, those "things" (be it health, family, relationships), may not be around.

Just say "NO" in November! NO slacking, NO quitting, NO excuses, NO falling down without getting right back up, dusting ourselves off, and going again!
