Thanksgiving traditionally was a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. Now it is traditionally celebrated as a day to spend with those you love and be thankful for all the blessings in your life.
This year was one of the best Thanksgivings I have had in a long time. My family and I started our family traditions again. We had a traditional Thanksgiving meal together at our family home at the dining room table. We are a small family of three, my great aunt, my mother and I, but we left 2 chairs empty in memory of my grandmother and great grandmother.
This Thanksgiving I am so thankful for my family and all they have sacrificed for me. Today I was finally able to do something for my family, I was able to give back to them by selling my car, which is paid off, to use for relieving the financial burden, my mother especially, has been facing for a long time. It gives me such great joy to be able to do that for my family.
