Countdown 298......Giving Thanks for a great Thanksgiving!!

Saturday, November 27, 2010

even though I was remiss about logging and blogging, all the practice leading up to the holiday paid off in a BIG BIG way!! heading into a minefield of temptation, armed with weeks of thought rehearsal made navigation a breeze. I thoroughly enjoyed my family, the conversation, immersing myself into the other people's enjoyment of the myriad football games, catching up and general people watching and the actual meal took a second and third place in the day and the afterday. I wore tight clothes, I picked a smaller plate, and limited myself to tiny portions of the foods I love with a promise to go back for more if I so desired. I started off with a big glass of water and I ate until I was satisfied, and scraped the rest left on my plate into the disposal (now thAT is a big switch, I always had a tough time "wasting" food and always cleaned my plate) By the time the the array of 7 pies, cakes and brownies rolled out, I still was not hungery. In the past I would have ate anyway because they all looked so good, but this time around I was content to be comfortable and with all the water, i had no craving for the scrumptious display. I singled out which one I would have when i was ready, and then took a peice home for the next day. I felt pretty successful about my choices for these last 4 days. Still not stepping on the scale till after Christmas, but i think my countdown is really keeping me on track, I am so thankful for all the support and the tools I get from Sparkpeople!!
