It seems so hard to stay on track with everyone baking and parties. I do really well have plans to eat healthy. Then have something sweet and then it is so hard for me to just stop. I guess I'm not going to go crazy try to eat in moderation, then bump it up after the holiday season is over.

    My ex worked at an assisted living fascility, and she even worked 3rd shift for a while, so basically she just puttered around the house and quietly cleaned and kept an eye on things while people slept, and was available if someone woke up or something. Most of the time she was alone, and after cleaning she'd watch a movie or tv or something - I definitely understand when you say you can eat anything at any time. It was the same way with her!

    I have a problem with feeling like I should/can eat when other people are eating too - I still struggle with the idea of "snack time for them, may not be snack time for me!" You're doing the best thing you can do, I think - just keep trying!

    That's a good idea. My job is working in a house with handicapped adults, and I can eat anything I want any time. There are no set breaks. I do really well except when I see other people start eating it. I don't really beat myself up, I just keep on trying.

    It's not about being perfect, it's about being better, I think emoticon

    To me, if I went to a party telling myself that I will eat NO pie, but then I realize that normally I'd eat TWO pieces of pie, if I come out eating only one piece of pie then I've still done better than I normally would. Does that makes sense?

    It's all about knowing and working with yourself - after all, who knows you better? emoticon
