Virtual Christmas 2010
Tuesday, December 28, 2010
My family and I could not afford to buy each other gifts this year. So I came up with a creative solution, virtual Christmas!
Step 1: Real table top Frasier fur Christmas tree decorated with an assortment of years of decorations.
Step 2: Each of us has a gift bag with our names on it. There are 3 of us: me, my mother, and my great aunt.
Step 3: I divided out catalogs for each of us to search through and find the gifts we would like to give each other and cut them out.
Step 4: I got small white labels which we used to put to and from on the back of the cut out.
Step 5: We put the corresponding "gift" into the bag and would take turns pulling them out of the bag.
Step 6: I then created an poster collage to paste all the "gifts" onto.
We all enjoyed giving our virtual gifts and being together!
This reinforces the point that Christmas is about the joy of being with your family and the birth of life not the materialistic Christmas we have come to know.
