Not waiting to start......day 263

Friday, December 31, 2010

I read a great story by Sean Flynn in the Canton Patch Paper, and I am paraphrasing, but it works for ME!

"Another event filled year has passed into the annals of history and as we lurch into 2011, several things are going to occur to us - as they tend to at this time of the year. A few may sting a bit, others may just annoy us. Either way, they will spur one of two outcomes: Inspiration will Spark some of the best decisions of our lives, or we'll simply find our good intentions ultimately betrayed by our lack of focus and determination.

New Year's resolutions are funny like that. But, they are no more avoidable than shoveling snow, or getting stuck in line behind the coupon lady at the grocery store. They give us the opportunity to click the refresh button on ourselves, so to speak, and proceed with a more emboldened sense of purpose and direction. The turn of the year can be a springboard to a better, healthier and more organized way of living - a chance to reevaluate what has gone wobbly in our lives."

Now I am ready to hit that refresh button to make some changes, and one of those will be to stop waiting until nightime to do my blog. I would always find myself rushing in to get my blog done before midnight, and some days life was in such a clutter that I would miss the midnight deadline, or just be too exhauted to even waste any time wating impatiently to go through my emails and get caught up on anything. I have always done well at concentrating on one small thing, and establishing a habit, instead of plowing through a ton of "I am going tos", so this is my small resolution to start. I resolve to give up two alarm clock snoozes in the morning to read 5 Sparkpeople blogs, and write my own. Reading the blogs are a great inspiration for me, and wrting my own will set the stage of the day to focus. Best Wishes to all for a bright new decade!!
