What's Up with P90X? Am I the Only One NOT Doing This?

Tuesday, February 08, 2011

I've seen infomercials about P90X on TV, but was probably more than half asleep, and I thought it was a piece of workout equipment.

Apparently not so, and EVERYONE on SP seems to be doing this, so there must be something really good here!

emoticon Is there more than one P90X program? Is this a set of DVDs you buy? Does it involve a regimented eating program? What exactly do you do, and what do you need to buy to do it? emoticon

Can anyone fill me in? If you're doing P90X, I'd love to hear what you like about it!

emoticon in advance!

I've been doing P90X with a friend. She owns the "kit" so I have only glimpsed at what they offer and tried a few of the workouts. It is a collection of DVDs, varying in length of time and type of activity. I was told there are different schedules they create for you based on whether you are trying to build muscle, lose fat, etc. I believe it also has info on food but I don't know if it is a specific menu, or just basic guidelines. My friend bought the resistance bands and a pull up bar to accompany her workouts with the DVDs. I enjoyed them, was surprised I could even do them after all the hype! They are challenging but not any particular moves that can't be found elsewhere. If you are already in the habit of working out regularly and want to try something a little new it might be a good investment. I'm pretty cheap so I decided just to do it with my friend when it works out, otherwise I stick to my elliptical and a few videos I like. Hope that helps a little. I'm sure eventually someone who owns it and knows the details will give you more info!
