I Survived Day 2 with Sonya the Personal Trainer

First of all, I woke up this morning at 4:10, got dressed for the gym, put breakfast in the crock pot and I was feeling pretty good. Maybe I'm not going to be Super Sore until Wednesday? Then I went to the gym, hopped on the treadmill for 15 minutes (because I didn't get there until 4:45) and the soreness began.

By the time I got to work at 7am, I was contemplating not drinking water for the rest of the day so I wouldn't have to pee. At least not until I could sit and stand without help (don't worry, I still drank 2 qts before 4pm).

All day I was thinking, "She's going to make me do push ups today, I just know it... ugh I DON'T WANNA!!!

Get to training and what's the first thing she tells us to do? Push ups with our legs on the ball and then bring your knees in close, using your abs, so your butt is up in the air. *I can't do this, I will roll off that ball* ok, so I did it, a little modified with my thighs on the ball, but she I worked the hell out of my abs bringing my knees in like that.

Then she give me 10# dumbbells and says "Hold the dumbbells, do a push up, you can use your knees, then I want you to come up on your toes and lift the right dumbbell up behind you, bring it back to the floor and then the left. I tried to lift that right dumbbell and fell flat.

God knows how I can walk around all day when I have absolutely no core strength.

So I go to 8# and do better. Not perfect, but better. I did squats with barbells and (SURPRISE) it didn't hurt! Pretty sure it's because I was expected to raise these barbells above my head when I came out of the squat hahaha

She told me to do Mountain Climbers and I thought I would die. These were to be done on a slick little board with these slippery little slippers.
*Have I mentioned I have NO CORE STRENGTH*
So I of course fell flat and said, can't I just do them on the mat? And she said... YES!!! I did that one round and then managed to convince her that running in place would do the same thing for my heart rate.

She texted me an hour after out session and told me she was very proud of me for pushing through it today. :D

I texted her back, thanking her for pushing me and told her it hurts like hell to put my seatbelt on... and to wash my hands.

Tomorrows session is at 5:30 am, because I will be at a meeting in the bay area all day.

If I can move my hands tomorrow, I will be sure to tell you all about it!

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, I did not tell her I hated her once today. The week isn't over yet though.

    GEESH, if your not in shape at the end of this I don't know what will do it. I'm so proud of you and it kinda sounds like fun... a little. You had me until mountain climbers, I HATE those things :)

    Wow! It sounds like she's going to kill you by the end of the week! Yikes...I've been avoiding the personal trainer I had planned to hire a few weeks back...now I think I'll run the other direction next time I see her. Is this safe what she's doing to you? Seriously, it sounds excessive!

    Hang in there - I have a feeling that this story will have a happy ending. Painful to wash your hands and put on a seatbelt doesn't sound too cool though - hope you're exaggerating!!
