Losing Weight Is Supposed To Feel Great. . .

Well, shoot it does feel great, but I can hardly tell the difference. Almost 14 pounds down and I still feel like a fat ass. Especially when I'm sitting down, my stomach bunches up into huge rolls and it feels as if I haven't lost a pound. I don't know how to explain it, and I also don't believe I have body dysmorphia because I'm aware I'm losing weight and can see a few differences (especially while standing) but it just isn't good enough. Honestly I FEEL that I look like I've only lost five pounds, which isn't the case. I haven't been at this weight in about five years, but I remember it feeling way better than this. Anyway, I guess I can't complain since the weight is slowly but surely peeling off. . . I guess I'll look better to myself eventually. I'm sure I'll feel better if my measurements come back with a significant change.

    Hey there! I know exactly how you feel. I've lost 10lbs but when I look in the mirror, I don't think I look 10lbs lighter. I have learned to come to terms with this, as there is nothing I can do about it. Just keep your head up and know that all your hard work and dedication will pay off!

    Hi there, i also find myself going yeah right! try measuring yourself and then again in a months time, the tummy and thigh areas are were i get upset because although iam losing nothing seems to be happening where i 'want it to' but then evenually i try something on and it is begining to show looser so it must be happening.. Chin up it will happen, if you stop what your doing its only gonna be worse .. take it slow and the results will show xxx you should be proud of the body you have, i would you are looking great :)

    I go through phases like that too - I think it's a really normal and common phenomenon. OK - so ... you hate your stomach and you are focused on that. Look at yourself as a whole - from head to toes. Find parts that you like (I like my collar bones and my forearms and my hands and my feet and my eyes and ... well you get the idea) It doesn't matter how small the part, just find stuff you like and concentrate your focus there. Remember too that you are getting stronger, faster more capable of activities that you were perhaps unable to do or do well before. I know it sounds hokey, but look for the good and the positive so you move away from the negative feelings.

    You are working toward the goal of improving the areas you are unhappy with - it doesn't happen overnight. Hang in there - it'll get better.
