Power 90 Day 29
Monday, March 28, 2011
So the day did not get started on the right foot. Went to bed later than I wanted to last night, so I got up late this morning. No time for a workout.
I was able to grab some snacks but didn't have time to make lunch.
While on the train, I read my work e-mail and I see that the office manager sent me a message just as I was leaving my house asking about a ticket number for a case I have open with Verizon for one of my downstate offices because she wants to call them since the internet connection is dead. Had the managing attorney in that office called me, the IT manager, instead of the office manager, I could have told him that I was aware the circuit went down on Saturday and that a dispatch was sent at 6am Monday morning to fix the problem. Instead, he has to sit and stew until the office manager works as a middle man to get the info and then relay it back. I don't know how many times I have to tell the office manager that she should tell this attorney to call me first. If there is a problem, I am the one that has the ability to open tickets with our vendor. After all I am the IT person. If it's an IT problem, it should come to me, right? I tell the office manager that she is just reinforcing the behavior by acting as the middle man and not telling him to call me directly. It bothers me for two reasons: 1) I feel it is a lack of respect and confidence that issues are not brought directly to me and 2: she complains nonstop that people come to her for everything.
Well enough on that rant. For lunch, I went to the restaurant downstairs and bought a sandwich. I had only half of it and will save the other half for lunch tomorrow. I was so tempted to eat the whole thing, but we have left over corned beef and cabbage and that would have put me over my calories. I think I might go over my fat though, because it was a tomato and mozzarella sandwich.
I think I'll resume the workouts tomorrow morning and not have a rest day on Sunday, because we have so much to do tonight that I won't have time to workout and go to bed at a decent hour.
