It's a LONG way to the top... if you have a cold!!!

I rarely get sick. Other than the problems I have with my asthma (which now that I think of it has only gotten worse with each lb I've gained) I hardly EVER get sick. Well guess what... I'm sick... . I have a terrible sinus infection, not to mention work has been the source of unbelievable amounts of stress... imagine that! Wednesday I worked a 12 hour open to close, woke up thursday morning and worked an open to 2:30 which wasnt so bad then friday I worked 3:30 to close... again not bad.. but saturday I am expecting to get off at 5 and someone calls out... 15 MINS BEFORE THEIR SHIFT... so 12 hour open to close it is... sunday I work a 10 hour open to close... with FINALLY A DAY OFF... and this is the day I turn up sick!!!
I go into work today and guess what... Someone else calls out... open to close again today I THINK NOT... "get into work" I say (their excuse was NO GOOD) "you have no choice" I say... Bad manager? I guess I will be... I am COMPLETELY fed up... if I were the store manager I'd fire the whole staff and start over!!! So through all this I have TRIED to stay to my course of changing my lifestyle... BUT... ahhhh the infamous BUT... I havent done very well... I've had Ho-Ho's and pringles... Bojangles yesterday and an oven pizza for dinner... then had chic-fil-a for dinner tonight... which was the only meal I ate b/c I was expecting to leave work by 12 and didnt get out until 5... due to the person who called in being late for their shift!!!

Anyone else feel like the odds are stacked against them? What do you do to climb the ladder to healthiness when you feel like crap, you don't time to eat let alone eat right, and the stress just keep piling on?

    I try to keep healthy snacks on hand that are stomach friendly and drink lots of water and tea.

    It is really tough to do, there is no denying that. I have a stomach bug right now and sat on my butt all day - I'm trying not to feel guilty about that. Sometimes you have to take a break, you just have to make sure to get back on the track when you can. Also, look for opportunities to take these situations and flip them on themselves. Even the smallest thing like drinking more water can help - especially if you are feeling sick. Good luck!

    It is really tough to do, there is no denying that. I have a stomach bug right now and sat on my butt all day - I'm trying not to feel guilty about that. Sometimes you have to take a break, you just have to make sure to get back on the track when you can. Also, look for opportunities to take these situations and flip them on themselves. Even the smallest thing like drinking more water can help - especially if you are feeling sick. Good luck!
