Day 2 of the 100 Day Challenge
Thursday, March 31, 2011
As one who joined the 100 day DIGG DEEP challenge, I committed to losing 15 pounds in 100 days. The more I have thought about this challenge, there is much more that I want to accomplish in that time than just a number on the scale, and these specific goals that I want to work on during that time will also help to make sure I achieve that 15 pounds pledged, a number which not only spells success in this challenge, but will be a huge personal success as it will mean leaving the two hundreds behind and entering One-derland- and for the first time in my adult life!
In this 100 days, I want to:
~Sign up for and complete my FIRST 5k! April 30, 2011 is the annual "Dam Run." I have no intention of running all or even much of this uphill 3.8 miles, but I WILL enter, train for, and complete it to the best of my ability. And who knows, maybe next year I will run the whole thing!
~Walk/jog 200 miles in 100 days, and with almost 6 today, I am off to a great start!
~Get 60 minutes of ST per week. I was doing really well with this, but let it slip and I really need to get back to toning and strengthening those muscles regularly!
~Track all my calories at least 95 of the 100 days, staying within my calorie range at least 90 of those 100 days. Again, I am off to a good start, I have tracked and been in my calorie range for the last 4 days straight, so I am still at 2 days and 100% for the challenge!
~Attempt to grow a garden filled with my favorite vegetables. Notice my goal here is to "attempt" to grow veggies- I am terrible with plants, but I am going to try...again. So far I have seeds, but need to get trays/pots- it is about time to get them started indoors...I am getting the rest of my supplies tomorrow and plan to get going on starting seeds next week.
So here is to the next 98 days, one-derland, accomplishing my first 5k, better health, a toned, slimmer, sleeker me, and just overall success!!!
*On a side note- my mother-in-law is getting re-married a couple of weeks after the 100 day challenge ends. We, of course, are expected to go and she has not seen me since I weighed 295 lbs. Even at the time my husband and I were married, in 1994, I was over 200 lbs, in fact my own husband has never seen me under 200, so what a triumph to be in one-derland at her wedding!
