1 cup rolled oats
1 cup of muesli/bran/etc
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup stone ground wholemeal flour
1 tablespoon golden syrup or treacle/molasses
1 teaspoon bi carb
2 tablespoons boiling water
125 grams melted butter
1 Mix all dry ingredients
2 Mix golden syrup, soda and boiling water. While frothing add melted butter and pour into dry ingredients. Mix well.
3 Squeeze mix together into walnut size balls.
4 Allow plenty of room on the tray as biscuits spread.
5 Cook at 160 C until starting to go golden brown. Biscuits harden on cooling.
you can substitute some of the butter with peanut butter, and you can also add nuts and dried fruit.
