Month by Month

Wow, a month has passed since I've been able to Spark ! I have been traveling in California and Nevada, visiting the homes of my children and being mom and gramma. I spent the first two weeks in California with my son Jedd's family. I rocked, walked and loved on new baby Jaxson and his big brother Jay (2). It was heaven. Little ones in the house make for such happy commotion. Lots of giggles, pretend cooking ( my favorite kind), play doh and books to be read ( and re-read). Jay loves Thomas the Train... Jedd and Carly are very health conscious and it was easy to stay on my Spark schedule.

From there I went to Jason's in Nevada... I arrived in time to see 17 year old granddaughter Secret off to the prom, she was just lovely. The girls gathered at 'our' house for makeup and squeals.. the next day was a family bar b que, complete with hamburgers, salads, and cupcakes ( I did have one). Jason's youngest, Faith (3) presided over the event in her frilly 'bling' dress. Quite the hostess to her 'cuzzies'.

Daughter Katherine arrived with her sons, Cajun (23) and Colten (6) in tow. She ranches about 250 miles from Reno and came in for a couple of days.

On to daughter, Leigha's family. Her oldest son Joe (14) is a competition swimmer. He and his dad swim daily, while younger son Jaacob plays basketball for his school team. We had an action packed visit as they were leaving for spring break on the Oregon coast.

The reason for the trip was youngest son Dax's surgery. Dax had a large mass removed from his neck. It had pushed the facial nerve under the skull. The doctor thinks the mass is benign, however, we will all breathe easier after biopsy results are in. Dax and Erin have two little ones, Savannah is 3 and Cain is 2. I am so grateful that I was there to help out. He has a drain in his neck, can't lie down until it comes out and is wearing a pressure bandage that has to be undone and rewrapped every two hours. By the time I left he was out of bed and doing the rewrapping himself....

This was one of the best and most rewarding times I have visited. It seemed like I was always needed for a snuggle by someone, both young and old. I loved entertaining the little ones and rocking new baby to sleep is pure heaven for me.

I am especially happy to know that everyone eats healthy, local and delicious foods. No one has any kind of weight problem or concern.... they can just go on tending to life and enjoying it to the fullest. Truly, I am blessed.
