South beach, the scale, running....

Missed a whole week of working out last week due to a cold. It was yucky and I just couldn't get anything extra accomplished. Now, I feel kinda bad because I read one of the spark blogs about how you have to treat the gym like your job or an important appointment. And, while it was Spring Break last week, I still had to go into work for three days and I did it.
I recently started South Beach Diet. I tried it once while I was still eating vegetarian (post vegan), and it made me ill! Of course, there weren't many things I could eat then. So, this time I am finding it a lot easier and I really like it. I only fudged 3 times in the first 2 weeks, and I have gotten back to 149. The scale went up a tad today, but I was dehydrated and retaining water when I woke up. So, I am going to check again tomorrow morning. Oh- and I think I might be bloated for TOM again. I swear anytime I start to make progress I hit PMS and undo all of my work. It's a vicious cycle.
The only downside to South Beach is that I am struggling to get in enough calories some days. I need to move on to Phase 2, but I am going to do that next week. I am really loving living in a body that isn't craving food 24 hours a day!! When I did slip up (ate some chips one day and some chocolate cake another), the sugars were intense and overwhelming. I think this will help me get back to a healthier place.
Oh, so when I missed working out last week,I missed Week 4 of the Spark People Running program. But today, I accidentally started Week 5 anyway. I did it and it felt good. So, I may try to just skip last week. We'll see how Wednesday goes. I just might be ready to run this 5K the whole way in June!
