weekend binge ... why can't I just stop.

Monday, June 06, 2011

I sabotage myself before my Monday weigh in every freakin week by eating entirely too many calories on saturday and sunday. There is always "get-togethers" or "church gatherings" with foods that I am not strong enough to say no to. This weekend I didn't even record everything I ate because it was just too much and would take me too long to do... so now, back to square one. Monday... I didn't gain but I didn't loose either ...

I am going to try my hardest this weekend to not mess up ... I am going to Baton Rouge this week to bring my kids to the water park but I plan on sneaking in my foods so that I am not tempted to buy something that will stop my heart in just two bites.

I am glad that everyone is on a diet up there ... it is easier to do something when everyone around you supports you in your efforts ... wish me luck

If you're hesitant to share your pictures, I highly recommend just doing it for yourself. :) I think you're already doing two very important things that will help you realize your goals. First, you're leaning on others for help and support. We are all so much stronger when we don't feel alone. Second, your blogging about your challenges. This will definitely help you hold yourself accountable in the future. Reminds me of this quote:

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
    ~ Carl Rogers quotes

COPE - I generally don't eat all my calories except for two days during the week .,.. it is so hard but I do so badly on the weekends that I bust myself either way ... I really need to work on my self control ... I need to stop and think what is more important to me... the instant gratification of putting something I will regret later into my mouth or being healthy and confident ... long road so far, but much longer to go

CMJ - and yes, I might have to move it to Wednesday that is a good idea thanks

I think I am going to do a progress pic thing but I am nervous to show everyone what I got ... lol!!!!!

You could move your weigh-in to Wednesday to let your body flush some salt out!

And I like the progress pics idea, that can definitely help show changes in body composition in case weight isn't changing but measurements are.

Sara, have you considered creating and posting a "before" and "in progress" blog with pictures? I did this last week, and it had a significant and positive effect on my motivation, such that I was able to put my desire to lose weight above my desire to eat junk food.

Here's another idea, based on the Weight Watcher's "methodology": If you know you're going to overeat on the weekends, why don't you try cutting 50-100 calories per day during the week and adding them to your daily calorie intake on the weekends?

You can do this! Look how far you've already come.
