Starting a New Life

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

It is hard to believe my husband is no longer here with me, his sudden heart attack and died within 24 hours. The first three months are a blur, but I am working on living a life without him. I have been busy looking for a job and school starts July 5th. I am about 1/3 of the way toward my associate degree in Networking Systems.
I found a roommate near Bartlett, and I moved into her house the middle May. She has been very kind to me and gives me the peace and quiet that I need.
I have lost about 25 lbs, since February, at first I would lose a few pounds and then gain it back. If it was not for all the wonderful people here on Spark People, I do not know where I would be.

I am stronger and learning to stand on my own, (my husband and I were together 32 years) I am learning he did so much for me, but I believe he would be very proud of me

I am at 234 lbs now, there is a zumba studio near winchester and germantown road.. when i lose another 20 lbs, i plan to join the class.. i still have a little pain from having my spleen removed about two years ago, but losing weight is helping

You've played the hand that God dealt you very well. Don't know if I could deal with what you've had to deal with the past 6 months.
    You are very strong.

Blessings to you and I pray that you continue to pursue your dream and your new life.
I know it must be difficult to lose your spouse. I can only imagine. But I have been divorced and alone and know the struggles of being a single women. I got my college degree and I learned to stand on my own two feet.
Good Luck to you and your career and your weight loss. Way to go on that.
Never look back. Keep going forward.
