Help, What Happened?

Saturday, June 25, 2011

I recently went on insulin, because my blood sugar had gone way up, due to stress mostly, my Dr. said, and she thought the insuli would be temporary, and as I lost weight I could go off of it. Well, my sugars were way down, sometimes too low, ranging from 68 to around 124. All of a sudden, 2 days ago, without changing what I eat, or anything else I can think of, it shot up to 250!! This morning it was 275!!! What the.....??? Now I am feeling soooo frustrated!!! I am doing everything I can....What am I doing wrong?????

Hi friend! I am sorry your, having a hard time. I am an insulin dependent diabetic for 8 years now.

The first thing I think of when I hear unexpected sugar highs is infection. Have you been ill? Has your stress level changed?

What type of insulin do you take? Long-acting or rapid acting? Any new medications? There are so many things that can mess with your blood sugar levels.

If I can help you, please let me know. I am an old pro at diabetes!

Hope things get straightened out for you soon, but until then, I'll be here!
