Goin' on a trip

Thursday, July 07, 2011

Got home from last vacation in Tennessee two weeks ago. Took the 3 grandkids with us. Thought I had them 12 hours a day, what's another 12 after all they do sleep thru the night. The oldest (12) brought his laptop and couldn't hook up to the WIFI at the resort. Contrary to his opinion he did live all week long. As soon as he got home he went to his room to LOGON and has rarely been seen since.

The girl (9) is getting into the teen-opinionated mode and takes after her mother in the my room is messy and that's the way I like it. Spilled a strawberry shake on the bedspread, had silly putty on the blanket.

The "big boy" (4 in August) wanted to follow big brother and sister to the park that was right across neighborhood street.

All in all they were pretty good. G-pa took the 12 yr old fishing in the boat and caught 4 fish.
The 9 yr went fishing with him on the dock and 2 fish were caught. Turned out to be expensive fish.

License for G-pa $25
Took a 2nd car to haul boat - gas $125
That's $25 per fish (but they were good).

They were supposed to go to Orlando with us along with their Mom and Dad. Mom decided to back out of the trip and put the money to other uses. Staycation at home and get caught up on some stuff that needs to be done at home. Said that G-pa and G-ma needed some alone time.

So off we will go, just the two of us. Our bags has been packed since we got home from Tennessee (came home with clean clothes). Just have to put in the last minute items, food cooler and take off on Sat a.m.

Will take advantage of the Exercise room at the resort, walk around Epcot and lounge by the pool. Taking my laptop with so I can keep up with Sparkpeople.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

It's so much fun taking the grandchildren on trips. We took our two oldest granddaughters on a camping trip last month, it was wonderful spending time with them.

I had to smile at the "cost" of the fish. The things we do for our children and grandchildren. Besides, I'm sure the memories created were priceless.

We were in Orlando last fall and went to Epcot and then to Universal Studio. We went with two other couples, but we each did our own thing while we were there. It was nice being able to spend some time just my hubby and I.

I hope you have a great time!
