Going back to basics

Sunday, July 17, 2011

Wow I haven't blogged since April?!? I'm still here but I just have taken a break from being on the computer. I work with computers all day long and when I get home I really don't feel like touching another keyboard or looking at another screen so I've been avoiding it.

but today I realized my avoidance of computers is my excuse for avoiding healthy living - go figure eh? I haven't been exercising. I have tried to track my food intake but have yet to track a full week. I find going on-line after work very distasteful these days.

So that I can continue my avoidance of computers I am going back to basics and have returned to tracking my food intake on paper. I will also track my exercise there too. Unfortunately I won't be adding up Sparkpoints but I need this right now. Paper tracking is how I lost my weight in the first place and I know it works for me. More comfort; less stress.

My work is stressing me out these days and the less stress I have the better. So I will still be here just not on-line very often. When I get myself back together, then I will track on-line and visit more often.

I now have at least 25 pounds to lose - I need to take this one step, one choice, one day at a time. Somehow I lost the 'me' time portion of this journey. Work is swallowing me up, home is swallowing me up, others are swallowing me up - it's time to take back some 'me' time. So today I have set up my DVD player in my sunroom and am actually going for a walk with Lesley Sansone - another original tactic that I used to lose my weight. Yup me and Lesley are going to walk away the pounds - lol.

This weight is coming off one step, one day, one choice, one pound at a time......

Way to go, Terri! I'm glad to hear you are getting back to the basics. It's a journey that never ends. And once we arrive at our final destination, we have to work even harder to stay there.

My weight is 4 lbs over my goal. But, I also had to go back to the basics. I have a 5 week plan..and I will be blogging about it in the next day or two.

Check in with us from time to time. We miss you. emoticon

Year after year after year we are still working at it, eh? Gotta be vigilant. Gotta eat the right stuff, gotta keep moving. It's hard, but if we make it easy then all the sudden we are right back where we don't want to be: unhealthy, unmotivated, and just not paying attention to whose the most important person here. US! We are just as important as everyone around us, and I dare say, even MORE important. Because if we don't look after ourselves, who else will?
