Day #2 - Jump-starting my progress once again!

Thursday, July 21, 2011

Yesterday was my Day #1 using my tried and true Medifast meal replacement plan (been a fan since 2006 and have kept over 25 lbs. off since then). It's a commitment, but I enjoy the convenience of meal replacements, enjoy the taste and variety, and enjoy the quick results - while still accomodating healthy protein levels, fiber and fat levels, making it easier to dip into body fat stores and see good results, quickly.

Down 3.5 lbs. after Day #1 and am already feeling better. I'm also looking into the New Lifestyle Diet supplements which seem to be comparable to Medifast. Their product line is made with whey rather than soy, and they seem to have a very wide variety of meal replacements to choose from. I use both soy and whey products from the Medifast line and have always appreciated the taste and quality of the product they produce. I am curious to try the NLD shakes and ordered their intro package available to compare the taste.

At this point I'm following a 6 & 1 plan (6 meal replacements per day, and 1 lean & green dinner) as well as 30 minutes of walking during the first 30 days. I should achieve goal weight within about 6 weeks if I stay true to plan, and that will be a good place to be once again, but aiming for 14 lbs. in the next 30 days.

Menu for Day #2

#1 - Orange 70 Shake
#2 - Coffee Soft Serve Shake
#3 - Cream of Chicken Soup
#4 - Lemon Crunch Bar
#5 - Vanilla Pudding Shake
#6 - Peanut Butter Soft Serve Shake

Lean & Green - Homemade turkey chili w/o bean and green salad w/blue cheese dressing

Walking tonite after work - 30 minutes

My follow-up plan will be refocusing on the 17 Day Diet guidelines for moving back into a clean eating, whole foods program. Both of these programs have worked well for me, and have become a part of my personal lifestyle nutrition plan.
